Zoho Vault allows you to import multiple passwords from a standard CSV file, browsers or even from other password management solutions. Convert the spreadsheets and text files you use to manage your passwords with to a CSV file, and upload it to Zoho Vault to access your passwords immediately.
Importing passwords from a standard CSV File
Zoho Vault adds every line in a CSV file as a password. Structure your CSV file accordingly to maintain consistency by having the same number of fields in every line. All entries should be separated by a comma. Here's an example:
Select Settings, then click Import Passwords from the Password Management section.
Specify the format of your entries and use delimiters to separate your passwords accordingly.
Specify a category for the passwords from the drop-down box.
If you're importing personal passwords, select Mark all imported passwords as personal. Only the passwords classified as Enterprise can be shared with others in Zoho Vault.
Map the imported fields with corresponding fields in Zoho Vault. For example, if you're importing passwords of websites to your account, map your username and password fields from the imported list, with the corresponding fields listed in Zoho Vault.
Click Verify to preview how your passwords will be imported. Click Import to import your passwords in the displayed format.
Note:
File uploads are supported from IE 10, Chrome 15, and Firefox 20. Manually paste the data from your file to the data field in other cases. While importing passwords from a standard CSV file, it is ideal to export separate CSV files for every password category.
There are a few restrictions on the special characters that can be used in the password name and URL fields. For example, only the following special characters (a-z A-Z 0-9 _ - . $ @ ? , : ' / ! space) can be used in the password name. Similarly, only ( http https : / - a-z A-Z 0-9 . ? , : ; ') can be used in the URL. Passwords containing empty fields and other special characters will be filtered. Imported passwords that contain the same names as your existing ones will be highlighted in blue. You can either add them as duplicate entries with duplicate tags added to them, or overwrite the existing entries with the new ones.
